The Floral & Fauna of Kitchen Décor

Later in the year, fall and winter décor often defaults to holiday colors, rusty oranges, gold, greens, and red. Breaking with traditional color schemes, we’re changing it up a bit with a list of ideas to bring a new fall and winter style to your kitchen. Create a slightly darker, organic air with lustrous metallics, deep jeweled hues, dusky florals, vintage colored glassware, and some sheer accents to bring a little light.

Mix Metallics

Metal accents give a luster to your space. Whether it’s from a copper pot or a Brushed Brass handle on your oven door, it reflects light and gives off a sheen unlike any other material. Just like with your jewelry, it’s fine to mix metals in your décor. Swap out your Café Appliances hardware to change up your kitchen mood. Change your Brushed Brass handles and knobs for Brushed Stainless or Brushed Copper—even a subtle change like this can completely change the look of your appliances and your kitchen.

If you want to add more metallic flair, place an antique copper pot on your counter or a pewter vase with flowers tucked inside. Bring in brass or copper candlesticks with jewel-toned candles for fall and winter. And don’t discount the visual appeal of small appliances on the countertop. Even the Café Express Finish Toaster or Café Specialty Drip Coffee Maker with copper trim gleams when placed near other metallic décor.

Jewels of the Kitchen

Colorful, vintage glass accents become jewelry for your kitchen when they sparkle in the light. Deep green jars, vintage glassware in amber or plum, and sheer green glass vases cast a lovely glow as light shines through.

Style a shelf in your space with a mix of décor—some vintage colored glass with metallic vases and a warm wooden accent or two. You can also set out some colorful vintage stemware to glisten in the light until it’s time to mix up cocktails. And set the table with some sheer, yet colorful, plates and bowls to go with your glassware.

Floral Accents

Of course, having colorful bouquets arranged in a vase brings some much-needed natural elements to the kitchen. You may also want to find some linens with a floral motif set to a dark background. Dark greens, teals, burgundy, or even black set off magenta or red flowers.

Complement your new décor with a winter floral dress or blouse. Choose colors that match some of your accents so your kitchen reflects your style down to your outfit.
