Shop the Look: Isabel Ladd Kitchen

Designer Isabel Ladd knew her kitchen needed a glow-up. She’d played it safe and went with a white kitchen first, but a white kitchen wasn’t her dream kitchen. She fell in love with the color Marigold, and then, she fell in love with Café’s Emerald Green range and it all came together. “Now I’ve got my dream kitchen,” said Ladd. “My kitchen makes me feel electric… It’s the yellow, it’s the green, it’s the florals,” she said. “And I so love that you just see a copper cuff on the handles [of my Café appliances] that has a spark, and that’s the only thing that tells you this is Café,” she added. “That’s so… Confident.” And so Café, we think.

Her kitchen is much more than a place to cook, though. Said Ladd, “I envision this space as a gathering place, as an extension of a living room. My family and I, we have mocktail hour a few times a week.” In addition to the Emerald Green range, Ladd also added Matte Black appliances to her kitchen. “The Matte Black is so grounding and so it's just a great juxtaposition between like all of the color and patterns,” Ladd said. She did change the handles to Brushed Brass to go with other elements of her design. “The brass color really clicks into other gold elements around my kitchen and it's just so pretty the black, the gold, and all of these colors,” she added.

“I love this range. I feel like it was specifically selected for my house. I just love the color. It is just such a hero piece. It is really the piece that inspired my kitchen glow-up.”

Though she fell in love with the color Marigold for her cabinets, she won’t go so far as to say it’s her favorite. Said Ladd, “Asking me what my favorite colors are is literally like asking me to pick a favorite child. I believe colors can't clash. I love a kaleidoscope of colors and I love weird color combinations.” She does have a favorite color combination, though, and it may seem unexpected. “Brown and white is one of my absolute favorite color combinations. I've used it front and center here in my kitchen, all over the wallpaper on the walls, on the ceiling of the backsplash. But I also repeat brown and white a lot throughout my house. It's probably my favorite color combination,” Ladd revealed.
