About the Collective

The Cafe Collective

The Café Collective is a group of influential women we brought together from different backgrounds and niches who have one thing in common: an unapologetic approach to embracing their distinct style. Over the next several months, The Café Collective will take their readers on a journey as they bring their style to life through our appliances.

Individually, they bring an uncompromising approach to style. Together, they embody what it means to be #DistinctbyDesign.

Gretchen Black

Some of Gretchen’s earliest design aspirations started as a teenager learning to sew her own pillows, and redecorating her room multiple times. That love for interior design at an early age stuck with her, and became the building blocks for a design firm of her own. She loves to incorporate beautiful colors, patterned fabrics, and mixed metals in all her designs. Some of her favorite spaces to design are kitchens and family rooms. Each of her designs is unique, and curated to be as individual as her clients are.

Michelle Lopez

Michelle is the baker, blogger, and photographer behind Hummingbird High. Michelle started her blog in 2011 after moving to Denver, Colorado. There are weird quirks of high-altitude baking like water boiling at a different temperature. She decided that baking from her favorite cookbook, The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook, would be the best way to test her baking skills. And so, Hummingbird High was born from her record of attempts, trials, error, and eventually, her successes. Since starting her blog, Michelle has moved back to her hometown of Portland, Oregon, this time focusing on her own original recipes. She’s a firm believer that you can make delicious and beautiful food with unpretentious and unfussy ingredients. She's currently working on a cookbook about weeknight baking.
